Rockford Peaches Ballcap
Although the AAGPBL was the first recorded professional women's baseball league, women had played baseball since the 19th century. The Rockford Peaches were the most successful team in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League and won the league championship in 1945, 1948, 1949 and 1950 with star players such as Gladys Davis, Dorothy Kamenshek and No-Hit Olive Little. The teams generally played in smaller Midwestern cities. The South Bend Blue Sox and the Rockford Peaches were the only two teams that stayed in their home cities for the full 12 years of the league's existence. The cap featured here is the cap Cooperstown Ball Cap Co. made for the movie A League of Their Own. It is slightly different than the plainer one worn in actual games.
